This Privacy Policy explains how vidosick.com (“VidoSick,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our website and browser tools (the “Services”). VidoSick is operated from Durham, North Carolina, United States. Where the law uses the word, VidoSick is the “controller” of the personal information described here.

The short version
- Your files stay on your device. Videos, audio, subtitles and images you open in a tool are processed in your browser and are never uploaded to us.
- Google Analytics is off until you accept it. Nothing is sent to Google, and no analytics cookie is set, before you say yes. Declining is one click and works just as well.
- Two things run regardless, because neither tracks you across sites: Cloudflare (our host) counts visits without cookies, and Sentry receives error reports when a tool crashes.
- We have no accounts and no ads, and we do not sell your personal information.
- We treat a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal from your browser as a “no” to analytics.
1. What VidoSick is
VidoSick provides free, browser-based helpers for video work: frame and timecode calculators, aspect-ratio tools, and tools that convert, compress, trim, transcribe and caption media. We do not require accounts, and we do not operate a user login system.
2. Files you process in our tools
Videos, audio, subtitle files and images you select are not uploaded to our servers. There is no upload endpoint for them to reach. Most tools run directly on your device using built-in browser capabilities (WebCodecs). Some need extra code or a model that your browser downloads first; those downloads come to your device, and nothing about your file goes back (see 3.4).
The subtitle burn-in tool loads its caption fonts from this site itself, not a third party, only when you pick one. The transcription tools (video or audio to text, subtitle generation) run a speech-recognition model on your device; the recording is never uploaded.
We do not receive the contents of files you process unless you separately choose to send them to us (for example by email). We do not use your files for advertising or to train models.
3. What we collect, why, and on what basis
The service named in each heading below is the recipient of the information listed under it. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the legal basis for each is stated; it reads “consent” only where we ask for it.
3.1 Hosting and visit counts: Cloudflare
VidoSick is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver pages, block abuse and keep the site running, Cloudflare handles the details every website request carries: your IP address, the page requested, your browser and device type, referring page and timestamps.
Cloudflare also adds its own Web Analytics script to our pages, which counts visits and measures how fast pages load. According to Cloudflare, it does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors, and it does not log query strings. It keeps aggregate figures for 6 months.
Legal basis: legitimate interests: running a fast, secure site and knowing how much it is used.
3.2 Usage analytics: Google Analytics (only if you accept)
If you accept analytics, we load Google Analytics 4 to learn which tools are used and where they fail. Until then Google Analytics is not loaded at all. Once loaded, it receives:
- A random identifier stored in a cookie, so one visitor is not counted as many
- The pages you view, their titles, and the page that referred you
- Your approximate location (country or region, worked out from your IP address; Google states that Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses), plus browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language
- Five events as you use a tool: a file was accepted, a run started, it finished or failed, and the result was downloaded. Each names the tool and the settings you chose (for example “GIF, 480 px wide, 15 fps”), and for a run that finished, which engine did the work. A failure records a general category such as “ran out of memory”, never the error text.
These events never include your file’s name, contents, size or duration, and no part of your file is sent with them. Google’s advertising features (Google Signals and ad personalization) are turned off, and we do not use Analytics to show ads.
Because the identifier is a cookie value and not your name, this data is pseudonymous, not anonymous, and we treat it as personal information. We keep it for 2 months. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Legal basis: consent, which you can give or refuse in the prompt and withdraw at any time (section 4). Refusing costs you nothing: every tool works the same.
3.3 Error reports: Sentry (errors only)
When a tool crashes in your browser, the page can send an error report to Sentry so we can find and fix the problem. A report contains the error message and its stack trace (locations in our code), the address of the page, your browser and operating system, the referring page, a short trail of recent actions (page changes, clicks on interface elements and the network requests that load engines and models), and the name of the tool and a general category for what went wrong.
Reports are scrubbed in your browser before they leave it, to remove file names and file paths. That scrubbing looks for names that end in a media or subtitle extension, so it is a safeguard rather than a guarantee, and we also keep the report itself small: no session tracking, no performance tracing, no session replay, no console output and none of your files. A report is sent only when something fails, not when you visit. Sentry’s servers necessarily see your IP address when a report arrives; we configure Sentry not to store it. Legal basis: legitimate interests: fixing faults in a tool that has to work across many different browsers and devices, using the smallest report that lets us do it.
3.4 Code and models your browser downloads
Some tools fetch a component the first time you use them, and those services see your IP address and ordinary request details, as any server does when it sends you a file. Nothing about your file is included.
- jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) serves the ffmpeg conversion engine used by the video-to-GIF tool and a few fallback conversions, and the code that runs the speech-recognition model.
- Hugging Face (huggingface.co) serves the speech-recognition model used by the transcription tools. It is a one-time download that your browser keeps for next time.
Legal basis: performance of the service you asked for, and legitimate interests.
3.5 Email you send us
If you email [email protected], we receive whatever you include, typically your email address and the content of your message. We use it only to reply and follow up, and we keep it for 12 months after the conversation ends.

3.6 What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, account details (there are none), precise location, advertising identifiers, or the contents, names, sizes or durations of your files.
4. Cookies, device storage and your choice
These are all the cookies and device storage VidoSick uses. Analytics cookies exist only if you accept; everything else is needed to remember your own choices or to keep a downloaded model.

Changing your mind. Use Privacy choices in the footer of any page, or the button below, to accept or decline analytics. Declining removes the analytics cookies and stops any further data going to Google. We ask again after 12 months, or sooner if analytics starts collecting something new. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time.
5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We respond to both. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal or a Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a refusal of analytics: Google Analytics is never loaded, no analytics cookie is set, and the prompt does not appear. These signals do not change Cloudflare’s cookie-free counts or error reports, which do not track you across sites.
We do not allow other third parties to collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites for their own purposes. If you accept analytics, Google collects data on our behalf through its cookies on this site, with its advertising features off.
6. Sharing
We share information only with the service providers named in section 3 (Cloudflare, Google, Sentry, and, for downloads, jsDelivr and Hugging Face), and with authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety or the integrity of the Services. Google, Cloudflare and Sentry act as our processors under their own data processing terms.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not currently show advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy first and ask for your choice before any advertising technology loads.
7. International processing
VidoSick and its providers are based in the United States, so information about you is processed and stored there and in other countries where those providers operate. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, that is a transfer outside your region. Google, Cloudflare and Sentry each participate in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions), and their data processing terms include Standard Contractual Clauses as a fallback.
If you are in Canada, your information is processed in the United States and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there under United States law.
8. How long we keep information
- Google Analytics event data: 2 months
- Sentry error reports: 30 days
- Cloudflare Web Analytics aggregates: 6 months. Cloudflare’s network logs follow Cloudflare’s own schedule.
- Email you send us: 12 months after the conversation ends
- Data on your device (section 4) stays until it expires or you clear it
9. Your rights
We give everyone the same rights, wherever you live. You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- restrict or stop how we use it, or object to a use;
- give you your data in a portable format; and
- withdraw your consent to analytics, which you can also do yourself at any time (section 4).
Email [email protected]. We will answer within 30 days, and you will not be treated any differently for asking. We have no accounts, so we can only find information that you give us a way to find: the email address you wrote to us from, or, for analytics, the value of your _ga cookie. Without one of those we usually cannot tell which data is yours. If we decline a request, you can reply and ask us to reconsider.
EEA, UK and Switzerland. You have the rights above under the GDPR and equivalent laws, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority (list of EEA authorities; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
United States. Residents of California and other U.S. states have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out, and we honor those requests for everyone. In the past 12 months we may have collected identifiers (IP address, and a cookie identifier if you accepted analytics), internet activity (pages viewed and tool events), device and browser information, and approximate location. We disclosed these only to the service providers in section 3, for the purposes there. We did not sell or share them. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact your state attorney general.
Canada. Under PIPEDA and provincial laws, including Quebec’s Law 25, you can ask to see and correct your personal information, withdraw consent, and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information. Technology that could identify or profile you (Google Analytics) is off unless you turn it on.
10. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 16, and our Terms of Service require users to be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
The most effective safeguard is that your files never reach us. Beyond that, VidoSick is a static site with no accounts or database of user data, delivered over HTTPS, and the few services that hold information about you (section 3) are established providers under their own security commitments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
12. Third-party links
Pages may link to other sites, such as platform documentation. Those sites have their own privacy practices and we are not responsible for them.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top changes when we do. If a change means analytics collects something new or shares it with someone new, we will ask for your choice again rather than treating continued use as agreement.
